Just wanted to let you know that K paid up. So now, we're talking about $80 ...not $100
There have been some interesting revelations though. Things happening behind the scenes I was not aware of; Casting an interesting light on ... these people.
I won't name any names here... but apparently a dude we've all known, started seeing Jennifer Loftin, after one of my boys stopped seeing her.

What kind of 'friend' starts Dating a friends ex girl??
You can't find any other women in the world?? I understand that sometimes alcohol clouds judgement, and perhaps they hooked up on a drunken night; but to Keep doing it after that?? .... wtf?
Anyways, this new information cast light on the comments made on my original post. Clearly, I was way off in my guesses, and assumptions, of "who" was behind those comments. The NEW information sheds light on exactly who that is.
Dude has been this way all his life; a two faced, back stabbing, kiss ass. Frankly, I've never liked the guy.
He finds out who's in charge, and kisses their ass real good; Washes their balls ya know... makes them feel like King of the Hill; He would do this with our Basketball Coaches; Like a "teachers pet" ... then, he'd start shit with players on the team, and if any of those players lashed out at him, the Coach... who's balls have been washed thoroughly, would swoop in to save him; save the day... He'd do this with "star players" on the team as well; so that when disputes would arise, naturally, they would take his side; due to all the ass kissing and ball washing.
Dude has been this way his entire life; A Spoiled brat; with uncles playing professional sports, making millions of dollars; he'd get lots of nice things given to him, then would walk around like HE was responsible for it.... never did like the guy.
And due to how I am, a no-nonsense kind of person, very nice and respectful towards nice and respectful people ... but, rub me wrong and I'll be sure you never forget how wrong I'm gonna rub you... which of course is part of what you've seen here.
People who wrong others, don't like to be called out for it.
It's something I've noticed over the years.
In this situation, there are 4 people who owe me money, they are all wrong, and they're now upset, that I've called them out about it; So.. what's a guy to do to make things right?

America Needs to Grow up about Sex pt. 1
Ok so, I log into my yahoo today; front page story, is about yet another Politician who cheated on his wife. Big Effing deal in my book.
That's right ... I said it ... Big Effing Deal.
Ladies, don't get mad at me; Get mad at our American Society and our uptightness about sex. That's where so many of our problems are right now; never mind medical/health concerns, economic crisis - we're in a LOVE crisis!
You see folks, there is an old adage, that came along with our American, Puritanical Society - that says, "a man is as faithful as his options" ...
When Kobe got in trouble years ago, I predicted at ThaClub that nothing would happen; That he did not rape the girl; that it was a silly, absurd accusation. No man in Kobe's position would ever have to rape anyone.
Yet, there were ladies who just wanted to argue with me, who would say silly things like 'u never know' - and I'm sorry if you're one of those ladies; or one of those guys who enjoys to sympathize with the ladies; but both of you are just plain wrong; In this case, you DO Know. No NBA player has to rape any woman... ever ... ever ... ever.
Because those are men, who have Options and lots of them. If a girl says no, they have 10 other girls in the lobby waiting and hoping he'll come back downstairs so they can get one more chance to get up to his room.
And this is true for All men of stature in American Society. This is NOT true for the rest of us... and ladies, seemingly have No understanding whatsoever, of what it's like to be a Man, when it comes to sex.
Which is why I'm saying today, America needs to Grow up already; Of course the Gov. cheated on his wife; Most Gov's do - that's right, I said it.
Oh the story hasn't come out; They haven't called a news conference to confess it; but, it's happened - I bet you ... This won't be the last politician to come out and confess to an affair; You know it won't ... because these men, have More Opportunities, than the rest of us.
If you're a guy with No Money .. and the Ladies always give me a hard time with this one ... but I don't care because this is just the plain truth -- women Throw it at you. For most of us ... we don't get it thrown at us; when we do, we jump at the opportunity because we don't know when it'll come again.
So, guys in their position, turn down a LOT of chances to cheat; They just get so many thrown at them that, from time to time ... they indulge.
Sex is NOT the same for Men and Women; there IS a double standard, and it's for that reason. The rules are not the same; If you're a man, you have to ask for sex - you have to do things for sex - you have to become someone for sex - there is a lot involved. For women ... all you have to do is walk outside. Some guy will come up to you and ask you for sex (in one way or another) - Some take a more prolonged approach, dinner, movies, ... hopefully some sex later. Other guys get right to the point. But essentially, that's what's happening ladies ... He doesn't really like your dress; it's cool; But, it would look better on his floor.
That's right ... I said that too.
This ladies and gents, is where the double standard comes from.
I have noticed recently, that this idea I have been floating around for some time now, at least 3 to 5 years, is starting to take hold; there is hope for the future indeed. Once we as Americans Understand WHY the "double standard" is in place, then perhaps we can move to a more, mature, adult area in our lives, and as a society.
It's Easier for Women to get laid, than it is for Men to get laid.
Therefore, if a woman is sleeping around, she's a slut. If a guy is sleeping around, he's a player.
Listen ladies... I know most of you hate this double standard - but it exist because YOU Run society.
It is YOU who has determined that man, should commit to only one woman, for life. It's an unrealistic dream - that often does not work out; though sometimes it does; and that's great - but You are going against nature.
Nature always wins. This is where we need to Grow up. This is a fact we need to accept. Men and Women are wired differently - we need to Grow up, and Accept this.
A man takes what he can get; Hate to put it that way ... but it's true. Let's say a man is able to get a woman; He's grateful, glad he's got one -- but as time goes on, he moves up in stature, and suddently, he's able to get more women; More women are interested, more women are offering him a night of pleasure; and now that he can... he'll look into it.
That's how we are wired ...
Ladies, you already have options - you do - you have lots of men interested in you, at nearly all points of your lives; Even when you're taken; So... when You pick a man, he's the man You want. You don't want anyone else;
That's how you are wired ladies;
You're different ... We're different
There is only one remedy - we have to change how 'men's options' currently are. Until it's as easy for men to get laid, as it is for women to get laid, men will continue to cheat on their wives; They'll continue to pick a woman based on, 'who wants me' - rather than 'that's who I want'
Who wants me works in the short term ... until someone else wants me.
But Al, you are contradicting yourself ... didn't you say that guys "of stature" Have options, and basically get to pick 'who they want' ...? ... some of you may be saying...
What I forgot to explain is this; Sure those guys have options "now" - but before they became men of stature, they were just like the rest of us guys who had none. They remember when they couldn't get it so easily. They love their wives, often they don't cheat because of something they dislike about their wife; It has more to do with taking advantage of an opportunity to be with a woman, they otherwise, would not get a chance to be with.
You see, women are Beautiful to us... we love how you look; We do.
Not all of you are shaped the exact same; and yet we love every distinction. You drive us guys wild ... you make us desire you, with the things you wear ... and sometimes don't wear. Lots of men, desire Lots of different women .. and yet, Most of us can only get one who desires us.
So when a guy is in a position, where lots of women, who he desires, also has desire for him ... he realizes immediately that he's in a position other men are Not in; and he can either enjoy the moment; or pass on it.
Other men would not pass it up. And often, the 'other man' mentality takes over. The, ... Hey, If I wasn't who I am, she would not be here right now. So I'm gonna take these down, for all my dudes in the world, who wish they could.
... the Gov was out in Argentina - you know she was a bad motha .... (shut yo mouth) ... what? I'm just talkin about sex ...
We need to grow up folks - perhaps when it's as easy for men, as it is for women, Then our 'double standard' goes by the wayside. Perhaps then we stop calling women sluts if they enjoy spreading pleasure, love, and joy - perhaps we see more loving relationships between men and women; Perhaps our family lives change - perhaps violence goes down in our society; fewer domestic cases; fewer rape cases; People living longer - more happier, productive lives ...
Perhaps, as silly as it may sound, More sex Truly is THE Solution ...

Poor Jessica Simpson, Meltdown reported...
Yep... another case of the media driving people crazy. Jessica Simpson had a meltdown at a concert ... I am guessing all the media hype about her being Fat got to her; Those pictures were blasted everywhere ... you saw them. Seemingly every television station, every show of every hour, every magazine or newspaper had something about it; Poor girl ...
They do this all the time though; some blame the paparazzi for Princess Diana's demise. Look at what they made Kanye do ... the guy lost his mom give him some space, and just this week, Miley Cyrus says the media is coming after her... Stating that, they did it to Britney, (and she did go crazy) but now that she's back on top, they're coming after her.
And while She is breaking the law... we wouldn't know about it if the media wasn't telling us. They're kind of intrusive... and yet, I am sure they like it that way.
Let's face it ... Drama Sells...
People, Eat it up.
So, Until People start desiring to eat something else ....
I guess what I'm trying to say here is, in my opinion only of course, that our media will do what we tell it to do; It will tell us what we really want to know; and if that's what we ask for, then that's what they'll give us; ... Eventually, We need to stop giving a shit about stuff like this so that our media can stop giving a shit too. Let's steer our attention and to do that, I mean let's steer our Interests towards creating that better society; the more loving, more equal, more Happy society ... Here's to you America!

YouTube vids, Slowing down ThaShow
Sorry folks...
The number of YouTube videos I had on here were slowing down the load times for thaShow - I do apologize for that - one of the things I originally wanted to do here were podcasts, sharing my thoughts on different topics - but I have far too many irons in the fire so to speak, to devote the time, to create quality videos or audio recordings - So, I went with another idea I had, to share the kinds of Videos I enjoy; that I think other people can gain a lot of insight from.
I've reduced the number of posts that show up; and will keep in mind moving forward not to post So many Video Series' back to back - I've got a good one on the way called, "The Origin of Aids" that aired on Sundance Channel; I'm trying to get some of my partners in knowledge to contribute to ThaShow; giving you more to read or watch, more often. So, stay tuned for that...
But the next video series will be an eye opener; that's for sure - because it's been said for many years by black people, including more recently Kanye West in a song; and when the Rev. Jeremiah Wright said it, he was talked about like he was crazy - but He's not - Scientists Created the AIDS Virus, then told Africans to come get a Polio Vaccine Shot; which was really, a Shot of AIDS; and from there, the epidemic has spread.
Sound Familiar?
The Gov't did this before - with Syphilis; this is well known, the Tuskegee Experiment.
My White brothers and sisters need this information; SO many still believe that racism is over with; that tactics are no longer being used to negatively effect black people - They need to know this - because whatever they do to blacks, eventually effects whites also; In the end, the only color that 'really' matters is Green; but racism is often used to keep us divided; so that white people will not care about what is happening to blacks; under the guise of feeling that there are still benefits to being white - sure, it's obvious to some; but sadly it's not obvious to nearly enough white people, as I feel they are the only ones who can truly put an end to what's happening in our world.

White people ought to be Shamed...
So, before I get into my commentary on this... I want you to read the thoughts of Danny J. Bakewell, Jr.... the President & Executive Editor for the Los Angeles Sentinel;
I left a comment ... it may or may not get removed; So I want to make sure it gets read, at least by you all here:
Yet again, racism rears it's Ugly disgusting head; and once again, it's aimed at black people; I get SO Tired of white people who believe in "reverse racism" - Newsflash; Until RACISM goes away, do not expect black people to openly embrace you - get real about it please; Until white people (in mass) get as upset, or more upset about racism From White people... this country will NEVER HEAL!
I've said it, have been saying it, and will continue saying, that Racism can only be cleaned up, by White People.
I admire all of the black people in the news, Bill Cosby, even Barrack Obama, and many others, who put the responsibility on black people to improve their lives; I agree - and you know what else? That is a SEPERATE ISSUE.
Racism, is racism; Improving your life in a country where the majority is against you; overcoming the obstacles Of racism; is a SEPERATE ISSUE.
Let me explain.
America has always been racist; and yet, black people have found ways to Thrive; Most struggle... but some make it out; However, regardless of how poor, or how successful a black man or woman is in the U.S.A. ... racist white people still call them, Niggers.
And that's where the problem is;
The fact that it doesn't matter how much accomplishing black people do; it doesn't Change how White people view blacks; In other words ... Black People can NOT end Racism.
If every black person turned their lives around and found a way, somehow, to become rich and well educated; White people would still call black people Niggers; They would find a way to take all the credit; They would say, "they only did it b/c of affirmative action and keeping me from getting a job ... reverse racism"
So, black people are powerless to STOP Racism.
Afterall, black people are some of the most open minded, and open armed people in this nation; You'll always find a black person in an 'all white, all latin, or all asian' club; And black people are the Minority;
Some would argue it's because black people hate being black and envy other races - I disagree; I think that in spite of all the hate thrown our way, black people can still appreciate the beauty in other races; Appearance wise at least.
I've spoken in great detail about racism Online...
YouTube is FULL of racist comments on videos that deal with race; They do not respect the perspective of any black person, unless that perspective includes, hatred for black people; So how can a black person ever talk to a racist white person about their racism?? The mere idea is foolishness.
White people must take up the mantle; and fight "the good fight".

Too many white people have benefited from racism to put an end to it now; Too many white people have jobs they don't deserve, or got promoted over a more qualified black person; but they're not about to admit that; they'll lie to anyone even themselves to hold onto that bigger paycheck;
What... You forgot about Mike Brown and Katrina? Here's a guy who got a BIG time job, JUST because he's good friends with The Pres... IF that ain't racism, I don't know what is. If that's not benefiting from being white; I don't know what is. Then of course comes the "what about Condolezza, and Colin Powell?"
What about them?
Are they using their positions to fight for an end to racism? Are they challenging their white counterparts to put an end to these racist ideas, policies, and practices? Or, are they more like the "good house negroes" doing the massa's bidding, happy to be in the house, instead of out on the field?
I guess white people don't know what a "token negro" is.
Since, they always point to these token negro's as evidence that they're Not racist; Knowing damn well if those Negro's were speaking out and speaking up about racism in America, they would no longer have their jobs.
Giving a black person a job, but restricting them from speaking the truth - is the same as giving a job to a white person; Neither will challenge the system; Neither will ask white people to be better; to change their ideas and views of blacks - neither will challenge the system to put REAL Help into the communities, better schools, better teachers, better facilities ... Neither will challenge the system to provide more jobs, and training for jobs in the hood - both will remain Silent on issues that matter...
... Like how healthy it is, to depict the Next President and the First Lady, as a Terrorist and a Black Panther; So I guess, slowly, White people are gearing up to turn the hate from Arab muslims... to black people - slowly the propaganda machine is going to attempt to get White people to Overtly Hate blacks again, to come out of the closet again, with their "No Niggers here" signs, and their "keep America White" signs... If you ask me, that's what this Cover says to me.
What's next? A depiction of a Lazy Negro ... Barrack laying under a Tree with a freshly finished off Watermelon and a bucket of KFC next to his Wife; both lazily laying around without a care in the world... with I don't know... the worlds problems in the background - War, rising Prices, lack of jobs... U know, ... The spin will be, 'it's so absurd how white people view blacks...'

From the moment Barack Obama became the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party, I have been saying that this election is going to be a true test of America’s progressiveness. Well, my friends the test has truly begun.
Over the past few weeks we have seen new lows in American Politics. We have seen our own friends and family thinking they were off the mic (At Fox News of all places, you should definitely know they mean none of us any good) and make truly offensive statements that outraged us all, and caused a son to have to denounce his own father’s comments.
But now this New Yorker thing has set the world on fire. I understand and can appreciate good satire as well as anyone, but folks this was not satire this was RACISM. Not direct racism, not overt racism, but the kind of racism that plays on every unsettling fear White Americans have lodged somewhere in the back of their brains. Post 9/11, when was the last time you have seen anyone, let alone a sitting US Senator depicted as a terrorist with a picture of Osama Bin Laden hanging over the fire place. I understand portraying George Bush as an idiot (some might agree), and I have seen Bill Clinton portrayed as a womanizer/pimp but this is so far beyond satire. This is just offensive, disgusting and cruel and absolutely UN-American. On top of the ridiculous way they portrayed Senator Obama, the New Yorker has the audacity to portray a beautiful and intelligent woman like Michelle Obama (a lawyer, a loving wife and mother) as a gun toting momma, adding insult to injury.
Well friends, I hate to think it, but I have a feeling we have only just begun to see how far we’ve come and how far we still have to go.
I think we are going to have to work harder, work smarter and brace ourselves for an onslaught of attacks on Senator Obama like we have never seen before and certainly like no other sitting senator, and presidential nominee has ever experienced. But, that is just US, we have always had to run faster, jump higher, be smarter and work harder. But, lets not let Senator Obama go it alone. We must run this race with him, we must work and work for a president like we have never worked before.
Also, it is our job to stand up and defend the senator and his family from these vicious attacks that do nothing but work to weaken the political strength and power of (hopefully) our next president.
By the way, I just returned from the NAACP National Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio this morning. It was absolutely fabulous! Senator Obama’s speech was incredible and it was wonderful to just be around all of these positive Black people standing up, being counted and ready to work. Also, NAACP President Elect Ben T. Jealous was excellent. Get ready. I am confident, Ben is about to take the NAACP to new heights bridging the gap of old school organizing with some new school ideas and flavor. So, as Ben said in his speech lets all get “fired up and wret to go”.
So, whether you agree or disagree, now more than ever I really need your input. I need to hear from you. I need to know what is going on in our community. I also need to know what other stories we need to tell, and what is on your mind. I really do want to hear from you, I want you to “Talk to Danny.”

Well said; I'm going to quote this editorial in my blog, thashowonline.com - and spread this message; I was outraged myself and in many of my phone conversations with friends, I let them know basically the same things you're saying; This cover was blatant Racism; That is NOT sarcasm, or satire; There is nothing funny about depicting Barrack as a Muslim, and trying to spin it as, "this cover represents how absurd people's thoughts about barrack are" - It does ... indeed - it shows just how Absurd "white people" are in their thoughts about Barrack; What this cover does NOT DO, is point out that it's ABSURD!!!! (not sure if that makes sense but hope it does)
In other words; it's not truly making FUN of those who feel that barrack is a muslim terrorist. It ONLY makes fun of Barrack and Michelle Obama; True satire, would be to depict White people with "dunce" caps on, and perhaps a "Thought Cloud" with Barrack and Michelle depicted this way; THEN, I'd take it as Sarcasm, and Satire - THEN I'd see it as an artist, making Fun of white people and others who have Absurd Thoughts; however, that isn't what This artist Drew; and it's sad that it seems they're gonna get away with it.

Yet again, racism rears it's Ugly disgusting head; and once again, it's aimed at black people; I get SO Tired of white people who believe in "reverse racism" - Newsflash; Until RACISM goes away, do not expect black people to openly embrace you - get real about it please; Until white people (in mass) get as upset, or more upset about racism From White people... this country will NEVER HEAL!I've said it, have been saying it, and will continue saying, that Racism can only be cleaned up, by White People.
I admire all of the black people in the news, Bill Cosby, even Barrack Obama, and many others, who put the responsibility on black people to improve their lives; I agree - and you know what else? That is a SEPERATE ISSUE.
Racism, is racism; Improving your life in a country where the majority is against you; overcoming the obstacles Of racism; is a SEPERATE ISSUE.
Let me explain.
America has always been racist; and yet, black people have found ways to Thrive; Most struggle... but some make it out; However, regardless of how poor, or how successful a black man or woman is in the U.S.A. ... racist white people still call them, Niggers.
And that's where the problem is;
The fact that it doesn't matter how much accomplishing black people do; it doesn't Change how White people view blacks; In other words ... Black People can NOT end Racism.
If every black person turned their lives around and found a way, somehow, to become rich and well educated; White people would still call black people Niggers; They would find a way to take all the credit; They would say, "they only did it b/c of affirmative action and keeping me from getting a job ... reverse racism"
So, black people are powerless to STOP Racism.
Afterall, black people are some of the most open minded, and open armed people in this nation; You'll always find a black person in an 'all white, all latin, or all asian' club; And black people are the Minority;
Some would argue it's because black people hate being black and envy other races - I disagree; I think that in spite of all the hate thrown our way, black people can still appreciate the beauty in other races; Appearance wise at least.

YouTube is FULL of racist comments on videos that deal with race; They do not respect the perspective of any black person, unless that perspective includes, hatred for black people; So how can a black person ever talk to a racist white person about their racism?? The mere idea is foolishness.
White people must take up the mantle; and fight "the good fight".

The Struggle of Racism : Obama says "Lay off my Wife"
In the ongoing struggle to recover as a nation from Racism and all of it's misunderstandings, we are whitnessing ongoing evidence that White people do not understand Black People. Mike Malloy made this statement on air just the other day; a Rare moment in America, when a White male comments on the White race in a manner that is True - and Not Racist, or Hate filled; We saw this with the remarks of Rev. Wright, how so many whites reacted to his statements, calling them hate filled, and racist; All he was doing was sharing the black perspective; and the same goes for Michelle Obama - I'll let you read the story; Click the link there is a video of the interview available - watch it, and my comments are below.
When Michelle states that she was finally proud of her country, and the GOP makes a video responding with 'i've always been proud' - they are not taking into account the black experience.
It baffles me, the sheer numbers of whites, who fully expect black people to absolutely LOVE everything about America; who are shocked if a black person has any complaints whatsoever about this country.
What planet do these people live on? Have they forgotten what this country has done to black people for 400 years?? I know they want black people to forget; They want black people to pretend that racism is no longer with us - even though plenty of black people still experience racism on a daily basis; what is wrong with these people that they fail to see the need for us to work together to make this country something that All Americans Can truly be proud of? Do they not get that in order to get there, this racism thing MUST END.
White people MUST make the effort to change their culture; and specifically how their culture views black people - treats black people - and (how they view/treat) issues that effect black people.
I know this is a shock to many whites; but black people do not trust them; Not enough has been done to Show black people that the white race has changed; So, when Michelle Obama made that remark, rather than take offense to it - how about recognize the comment for what it was - the opportunity to find out just what could make Other black people, Proud of this country.
What can be done?
What Needs to be done?
These are the types of questions that beg to be asked; If we don't ask the right questions we will never get the right answers.
Obama tells Tenn.'s GOP: 'Lay off my wife'

Democrat Barack Obama has a message for Tennessee's Republican Party: "Lay off my wife."
Obama, his party's presidential front-runner, and his wife, Michelle, were asked in an interview aired Monday on ABC's "Good Morning America" about an online video last week by the state's GOP taking her to task for a comment some considered unpatriotic.
"The GOP, should I be the nominee, can say whatever they want to say about me, my track record," Obama said. "If they think that they're going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful because that I find unacceptable, the notion that you start attacking my wife or my family."
He called the strategy "low class."
The video, posted on YouTube, centered on remarks Michelle Obama made while campaigning in Wisconsin last February, when she said: "For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country."
The four-minute video replayed the remark six times, interspersing it with commentary by Tennesseans on why they are proud of America. In a news release that included a link to the video, Tennessee's GOP said "the Tennessee Republican Party has always been proud of America." It urged radio stations to play "patriotic music" during Michelle Obama's visit to Nashville last Thursday.
Michelle Obama later clarified the remark, saying she meant she was proud of how Americans were engaging in the political process and that she had always been proud of her country.
"Whoever is in charge of the Tennessee GOP needs to think long and hard about the kind of campaign they want to run, and I think that's true for everybody, Democrat or Republican," Obama said in the ABC interview, adding: "These folks should lay off my wife."
Obama said his wife "loves this country. For them to try to distort or to play snippets of her remarks in ways that are unflattering to her is, I think, just low class. I think that most of the American people would think that as well."
Tennessee's Republican Party was roundly criticized in March, including by likely presidential nominee John McCain, for a news release that used Barack Obama's middle name — Hussein — and showed a photo of him wearing what it said was "Muslim attire."
The release ultimately was removed from the party's Web site at the urging of the state's two Republican senators and Republican National Committee Chairman Mike Duncan, who said he "rejects these kinds of campaign tactics."

The Dean of the Democratic Party says ... "One Must Go"
He's right.
The longer this square off goes on, the higher the chance of John McCain becomming the next President of the U.S.A.
Hillary Clinton represents the "new age woman" - she is of the ilk that seeks to prove they are just as good, just as equal, just as whatever as men are; At any cost. She's almost like a butch dyke ... The kind who constantly competes with men - the kind who has no respect for men whatsoever, and would never, ever admit to losing to one.
This race was over months ago. Obama's lead was so large that it would be improbable for her to come back; She could stay in the race, and make the results closer than they were, but in all likelihood, she was going to lose - and is going to lose, but in the end, the longer she keeps this going, the more likely that He is gonna lose too.
In fact, what this all means is, WE are going to lose.
That is the end result of this "new age woman" - The Post Woman's Liberation Movement woman who feels that being a house wife is somehow, a demeaning role - who believe that Women should be the head of the household, not men. You know, the New Age Woman of "This Society" - who cares nothing for the old 'gender roles' that helped make this society strong - in the long run, what they have done to us as a country is help us Lose.
It bothers me, because what Hilary is doing with her debates, with her commercials, is casting doubt in the very people needed to help the Democrats win, that the Other guy can do the job. She is muddying the waters, blind to what will happen in the long run. Then again, perhaps she knows.
Perhaps she ... like many White Americans, just do not want to see a Black Man win this position; and will do anything to stop it from happening. Afterall, lets be honest - Politically it really does not matter who's in office, at least it has not up to this point. Life doesn't get easier for black people, and rarely gets worse for whites. I mean they have made this race... an issue of race .. so let's not shy away from that now.
Republican values focus highly on providing a better way for rich, (often white) people. Their values appeal greatly to blacks who have disconnected from 'the hood' - who have no interest in going back and helping out the communities they come from.
Democratic values, which usually are interested in helping minorities out, often upset the rich, and turn them off from the idea of helping those less fortunate, in the united states; they simply don't do enough to speak out against instances of racism that still lingers in our society - rarely do they do enough to preach the importance of those at the top, reaching down to help those at the bottom come up to where they are.
So it almost really doesn't matter - but it's clear that democratic rule is often better for blacks, and other minorities, than republican rule - Also from a world view, the desire to negotiate and debate or talk things out is higher on the priority list for Dems, while Republicans love going to war.
That is what's refreshing about Barrack's message of the need to Change - and so far he's shown that; While Clinton attacks, insults, and dirties his name - he does not respond to with the same tactics; He sticks to the issues, showing us that even his campaign is different - but will the average person realize that? .. or buy into the rhetoric of the medias sound bytes.

Dean says either Clinton or Obama must drop out in June

Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean said Monday that either Hillary Rodham Clinton or Barack Obama must drop out of the Democratic presidential race after the June primaries in order to unify the party by the convention and win the election in November.
But Dean didn't say which candidate should drop out, only that it should happen after primary voters have been to the polls.
"We want the voters to have their say. That's over on June 3," Dean said in an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America."
Dean also said that while the party rules say Democratic superdelegates can wait until the party's August 25 convention to make up their minds, that would be too late to unify the party and defeat the presumptive Republican nominee, John McCain.
"We really can't have a divided convention. If we do it's going to be very hard to heal the party afterwards," Dean said. "So we'll know who the nominee is and that'll give us an extra 2 1/2 months to get our party together, heal the wounds of having a very closely divided race and take on Senator McCain."
Dean said he won't have to tell either Clinton or Obama when it's time to leave the race.
"Either of these candidates, if it's time for them to go, they'll know it and they will go," Dean said. "They don't need any pushing from me. You know when to get in and you know when to get out. That's just part of the deal."
"This is not about Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama," Dean added. "This is about our country. It's about a better course for our country. ... We've got to move on and win the presidency."
Obama has more delegates and popular votes than Clinton, but she is also fresh off a big-state win in Pennsylvania.
Dean said that "none of the so-called party elders I talked to" think the contest should go until the convention. "I agree with that," Dean said.
"We've got nine more primaries ... Five hundred of the 800 unpledged delegates have already said who they are for. The remaining 300 will do that by the end of June and we'll know who our nominee is and that's what we need to do," Dean said on NBC's "Today" show.

A more just society...
I was reading about the Pope's Visit to the USA and his meeting with our President, and was inspired to share a few words on what the pope would like the USA's leaders to do; to govern in a more Just and Moral way.
Sounds great doesn't it?
This is however the precise problem with people who address the USA - who claim to be shocked by the war in Iraq; from the threat of terrorism we have taken over a country and every day we kill innocent Iraqi's who had nothing to do with 911, who don't support terrorism, and who just wanted to live their lives; Every day we help those who do want to harm us, to recruit the relatives of those innocents killed by the USA.
What we are doing over there is no surprise.
See, that's just the problem - People fail to realize that the USA has never been a just, moral nation. I'm so glad that in 1964 they were able to draft the voters rights act, allowing black men and women who had contributed SO Much to the American Society, to finally have a voice in who the leaders would be in their communities, and to have a say in who leads this nation.
Great!
After 400 years of Slavery and Segregation, time enough to mentally disable the majority of black people in this country to be nothing more than followers of what was given to them, great! After breaking the very humanity of these people - great! After ripping any knowledge of their past from them, after destroying any unity they could have as a people - Great!
This is precisely the problem in this country.
Sure we've got the potential to do what's right - to be a great nation - to be the very best in the world; We've got freedoms that other nations don't have But keep in mind that Many of these freedoms were denied to black people for 400 years... that when black people finally got the freedom to speak their mind, that many were shot and killed for what they had to say; that freedom for black people, is not the same as freedom for whites.
This country STILL has a long way to go before it can ever claim to be a just, or moral nation. Specifically I put the blame ... or the responsibility on white people, to stop referring to this nation as great already, as if it's already accomplished great status; and refer to it as Potentially Great.
We've patted ourselves on the back too much in this country; and it takes away from the work that still needs to be done; it causes anger at remarks of a pastor who's only speaking the truth; but it's perceived as Hate Speech, because so many white people feel this nation is Already Great.
This perception causes a problem.
It's like when people come up to me talking badly about Kobe Bryant; The man is already great, and sometimes I percieve anyone with anything negative to say about Kobe, which may sometimes be true, as Hate-Speech.
It's not hate speech when it's true.
It's not a great country, till it's a great country, till it truly becomes a more just, and moral country; We've got work to do folks; I hope you're up to the challenge.

See, that's just the problem - People fail to realize that the USA has never been a just, moral nation. I'm so glad that in 1964 they were able to draft the voters rights act, allowing black men and women who had contributed SO Much to the American Society, to finally have a voice in who the leaders would be in their communities, and to have a say in who leads this nation.
Great!
After 400 years of Slavery and Segregation, time enough to mentally disable the majority of black people in this country to be nothing more than followers of what was given to them, great! After breaking the very humanity of these people - great! After ripping any knowledge of their past from them, after destroying any unity they could have as a people - Great!
This is precisely the problem in this country.
Sure we've got the potential to do what's right - to be a great nation - to be the very best in the world; We've got freedoms that other nations don't have But keep in mind that Many of these freedoms were denied to black people for 400 years... that when black people finally got the freedom to speak their mind, that many were shot and killed for what they had to say; that freedom for black people, is not the same as freedom for whites.
This country STILL has a long way to go before it can ever claim to be a just, or moral nation. Specifically I put the blame ... or the responsibility on white people, to stop referring to this nation as great already, as if it's already accomplished great status; and refer to it as Potentially Great.
We've patted ourselves on the back too much in this country; and it takes away from the work that still needs to be done; it causes anger at remarks of a pastor who's only speaking the truth; but it's perceived as Hate Speech, because so many white people feel this nation is Already Great.
This perception causes a problem.
It's like when people come up to me talking badly about Kobe Bryant; The man is already great, and sometimes I percieve anyone with anything negative to say about Kobe, which may sometimes be true, as Hate-Speech.
It's not hate speech when it's true.
It's not a great country, till it's a great country, till it truly becomes a more just, and moral country; We've got work to do folks; I hope you're up to the challenge.

Why Black History Month Matters..
America has so much to learn from it's past - I mean the opportunities are endless; and yet I raise a question today; "Have we truly learned anything from our past?"
Racism and Legal Segregation towards black people in America was truly the WORST crime ever committed against human beings in all of human history. Prior to the American Slave experience, there was a time when being a slave was honorable - slaves were treated well, they accepted their role in society because they were born into a culture that viewed things in this manner.
Some people were born to be slaves, others were born free, others were born to rule.
And that was that; Slavery was not based on hate - it was not based on race - it was not a reason to dislike someone; It is said that Those who do not know their history are doomed to repeat it's mistakes.
Learning from mistakes is part of life - some learn, others do not. But almost every case of those who do not, involves a person who either does not own up to the mistakes they've made, or refuse to seek to learn a lesson from them. Our failure to care about black people in this country is not serving us well.
I've heard non blacks bring up questions like, "why do we have black history month?" What for?
It's a great question - too bad they rarely care about the answer to that question. Too bad what they really mean is, "can't we get rid of this nonsense celebration??" - "can't those black people stop living in the past...???"
This negative attitude towards black people does not serve America, because there is so much to learn from this very negative experience, that could serve America in a very positive way.
Black History Month is not just about living in the past - it's much more about celebrating the accomplishments of Black people in America, during times of distress and duress - where odds were stacked highly against them, and where in many cases their accomplishments were not credited to them, but instead went to white men and women who did nothing other than "hire" or "command" the black mind to turn it's attention to it; On this I'm referring to inventions and creations that truly helped Make America what it is today.
Black History, is American History - it's part of the story - it's a major cog in the wheel that made this country turn - and turn into The Super Power that it became; Also it is a reminder of the lowest levels of humanity - it shows us what we are capable of - and therefore provides a huge lesson for us to learn; to avoid repeating the mistakes of the past or allowing those atrocities to occur ever again.
And yet, we're just not learning...

Love would never allow a person to treat other people that way; Love would stop a person from saying those words; Love would motivate a person to change things for the better; and Love, eventually did.
Love changed the hearts of many - Martin Luther King, Jr.'s approach to shame white people into treating black people right, by loving them even while they hated black people, till eventually they would come to feel bad about it; and fall in line with other whites, and blacks, demanding change...
Isn't that a feel good story??
I certainly think it is. The experiences of blacks in America should not be forgotten or discarded - these are important perspectives that we are yet to fully come to terms with; that we are yet to fully understand; How these experiences have impacted black culture in America, often in a negative way - how much of the work left to be done, can only happen with Love. ... With Care and compassion.
Without those things, the work will never be done. Non blacks will continue to turn a hate filled "we don't need to celebrate black people" attitude towards black people - the negative vibes will continue to flow creating a scenario where negative acts will continue to take place; it's an unending cycle without love stepping in to change the direction ...
Addressing the Latin vs. Black issues in America.
Black History should never be forgotten; the accomplishments of black people matter - the ones from the past all the way to the present; black people have been a Huge Influential Force in Making America what it is... and that needs to be honored and respected.
There are looming issues between the Latin and Black communities; Black people are hated by many Latin Americans, often for ridiculous reasons. Especially when you consider the fact, that many of the liberties Latin Americans have access to would only be possible because of the struggles of Black People.
Latin People should be the biggest fans of Black people; They should be so thankful for what black people have done, to create a way for Them to live and experience the American Dream; Without black people, Every single Illegal Immigrant in this country would not only be deported but, would possibly find themselves enslaved or put to death; The "white heart" was very cold towards anyone who was Not white at one time in this country...
All that black people did to change that, should be respected by Latin Americans - instead, black people receive disrespect.
I'd venture to say, it's related to this idea by many non-blacks, that black people still, just don't matter. That black History does not matter - it's a sad day when people allow bad ideas to flourish; Let's fight back one and all - let's raise and spread the awareness of the lessons to be learned from the past - especially what was done To black people - and how black people overcame those obstacles.
Then perhaps we can start being real about the issues black people face today - and how they are related to the past; in hopes of finding solutions today ... for America to move forward into the future.

Phil Jackson, on Shaq ... and Smush
A funny story here, specifically the comments by San Antonio Spurs' Coach Greg Poppovich - clearly he's jealous.

MIAMI -- The Lakers breezed through Miami over the weekend, a city serving as a constant reminder of their recent past.
Even though Shaquille O'Neal was traded last week to Phoenix, there was still enough talk about him and former Lakers starter Smush Parker to keep the Miami relevancy streak alive.
Jackson, who coached O'Neal for five seasons with the Lakers, added his thoughts to the trade viewed by many as a reaction to the Lakers' acquisition of Pau Gasol.
"I can't imagine that [O'Neal] wanted to pick up and move again," Jackson said. "I don't think that fit into his scheme of the way he wanted to live his life. But I do think it will re-energize him. I think he has got something to prove again, and I think it could be good for him."
Why did Phoenix give up four-time All-Star Shawn Marion and take a chance on a soon-to-be 36-year-old with a long list of injury problems?
"They're willing to take that risk," Jackson said. "I guess if you've been in the position they've been in the last three years and you haven't gotten to the Finals, you have to wonder about your strategy."
O'Neal has not played since Jan. 21 because of a hip injury, but Jackson expected him to be in the lineup when the Lakers and Suns meet Feb. 20 in Phoenix.
Jackson also talked openly about Parker, who flamed out in his second season with the Lakers and signed a two-year, $4.7-million contract with Miami before this season. He played only nine games before being suspended indefinitely in November after an alleged altercation with a valet-parking attendant.
"I had hopes for Smush in my exit meeting with him last year, talked to him about trying to get himself motivated in a way that might be different than what he'd done in the past," Jackson said. "I just don't know what went wrong. I haven't stayed close enough to that situation.
"But Smush can get on the backside of an issue and make it worse, unfortunately. He was the kind of kid that if he got a bad call in a game, he might let it affect him for two minutes and then get a technical two minutes later because it would kind of burn, ignite and the ember wouldn't go away."
It has been 10 days since the Gasoltrade, but reactions are still trickling in. Count San Antonio Coach Gregg Popovich among those who disapproved of it.
"What they did in Memphis is beyond comprehension," he told SI.com "There should be a trade committee that can scratch all trades that make no sense. I just wish I had been on a trade committee that oversees NBA trades. I'd like to elect myself to that committee. I would have voted no to the L.A. trade."
Popovich was then told that Memphis General Manager Chris Wallace had challenged NBA executives to criticize the deal publicly instead of spreading unattributed opinions comparable to what Wallace called "pillow talk."
Said Popovich: "Well, there you go. I'm on the record."
After further review, the Lakers are leaning toward keeping DJ Mbenga in case Chris Mihm isn't ready to play after the All-Star break, a team source said.
Mihm has been sidelined since Dec. 23 because of bursitis in his right heel and a sore Achilles' tendon. He has been taking part in individual workouts with team trainers, but a definite return date has not been established. The Lakers would have to sign Mbenga for the rest of the season after the expiration of his second 10-day contract, probably for the prorated amount of the league minimum of $427,163.

T.O cries for Romo, Racism on the airwaves, Question Everything
No coverage of this one on Espn.com - I wonder why that is??
T.O. has been ripped for his antics over the years, and usually the criticism includes how Selfish he is. Then, when the guy finally displays public emotion for a Team Mate, and says "we lost as a team" ... the only place I can find coverage is on Yahoo??
This goes to show, once again, that our Media in this Country is only interested in bashing people, not praising people.
If we really look deep into his antics in the past, all of them ... nearly were motivated by his desire to Win! T.O. has always been a Team Guy - why else would he play on a broken leg in the Super Bowl = for personal gain?
Last I checked, when it comes to team sports, Teams win because of the individuals playing for that team. Micheal Jordan will not only go down as possibly the greatest basketball player ever - but as a Chicago Bull. And look up some of his quotes - he's one of the first say state that individual accolades mean nothing if your Team isn't winning also; Great players understand that.
And often Great people do as well - but our media loves to tear down great people - why though?
What many people do not realize is that the media is not ON your Side. The Media is not interested in empowering the people - it's not interested in motivating you and I to be good decent citizens in the world; So they rarely shower praise on anybody for doing the right thing.
Instead those man hours are put into researching who is fucking up.
Then, in an irresponsible way, our media makes no effort to tell us how to think or feel about someone fucking up; They don't remind us that no one is perfect, that we all fuck up; Instead it's spun in a manner to make us think that These People "should" be perfect.
Afterall - they're athletes.
And this same example can be, (and is) applied to every other aspect of our society.
Afterall - they're politicians.
Afterall - they're preachers
Afterall - they're adults.
There's a great quote from Charles Barkley, on the Dan Patrick show the other day, as he weighed in on the inappropriate comment by commentator Kelly Tilghman on the Golf Channel, who in a "joking" manner stated that the only way for other golfers to beat Tiger Woods - is to "lynch him in a back alley" ... more on this in a bit; but first his quote - about the Media - "The Media has to think for people because People are too stupid to think for themselves."
That link "should" work - and I hope it does, as it's a really good interview; and it's so true. People are entirely too reliant on the media; People do not question what they hear or read in the news and in newspapers - and it's only gonna get worse with the new ruling that allows the Same people who are controlling AirWaves to also control the Printed Publications - it means less diversity of news - and more of the same.
That's one good thing about blogs; While blogs are filled more with Opinions than facts in many cases, sometimes those Opinions are indeed educated, or thought out - enough to where they are more accurate than the factless reporting we'll find in the news media - who often will mix a fact with a non-fact just for the purpose of having something that in their opinion, is more exciting than just telling people the truth.
Terrell Owens has caught so much flack, that even when he sheds a tear and shows some emotion for his Team, he either gets NO coverage at all - or, as I heard on the Jim Rome show this morning, he gets called out as a fraud fr crying; people saying he's faking it; that he's got problems, and so on.
When it comes to the media, do your selves a favor - QUESTION EVERYTHING -
A few good links - a Great Interview on KLAC by the Loose Cannons, one of the best I've heard to this date on issues of race and racism; In case you do not know about the comment, this interview is one you need to hear - along with a wonderful comparison that I feel needs to be repeated in everyone's talking points. Listen to it here - be sure to sit through some of the talking at the beginning, even if you're lost - It's not long after their top 10 Countdown.
The quote you're listening for, is along the lines of how unacceptable it would be to make this sort of comment about a Jewish Golfer - if She would've said "the only way to stop so and so (a jewish golfer) would be to put him in a gas oven" - The world would spin off it's wheels.
However when it's a black athlete, and because that athlete says its no big deal - people just lay down and say it's no big deal; Nevermind that Tiger Woods has never taken a stand on any issues that effect black people - and while Charles Barkley also took the stance, that the comment was no big deal, let us not forget how much he Loves White Women.
For many black men, and women, who have an affinity for white people, in order to be accepted By white people, they must take these stances on these issues, or else white people will not like them.
Sad, but true.
It's rare to find a black panther who's liked by a white person; But that's a topic for another posting.
I do offer up however a quote from the blog I linked up, a nice paragraph that I fully agree with by Christian Dashiell of kansascity.com
Which is why I continue to discuss these issues here on thaShow - in hopes that something positive can indeed come out of it. White people need to do more to show blacks that they Do indeed care about black people; Actions like these show the oppositie. White people need to be up in arms, so that we don't have to rely on a quote from Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson, who DO not speak for Black people, and instead speak for their OWN fame and monetary gain - as they both only make appearances when paid to appear - instead, the common man should be speaking out on behalf of Tiger Woods, and how inappropriate this comment was - considering the history of Lynching.
I mean of all the things she could've said - why that?
It came off of her tongue sooo smoothly too - it's as if it's the kind of humor that SHE is around all the time; She saw nothing wrong with it - and that is indeed a Problem. This is an aspect of "white culture" that is detrimental to the stability of America - we cannot make it much longer if we continue to be divided along lines of race; if White people continue to tell blacks to just move on and get OVER racial remarks.
Again, listen to all the interviews, you'll enjoy the shows, and the points of view. However while you listen... Question what you're listening to; Don't agree with me just because, don't disagree with me just because; Think things over - bring these discussions to others... Think, think ... think!!!

That's one good thing about blogs; While blogs are filled more with Opinions than facts in many cases, sometimes those Opinions are indeed educated, or thought out - enough to where they are more accurate than the factless reporting we'll find in the news media - who often will mix a fact with a non-fact just for the purpose of having something that in their opinion, is more exciting than just telling people the truth.
Terrell Owens has caught so much flack, that even when he sheds a tear and shows some emotion for his Team, he either gets NO coverage at all - or, as I heard on the Jim Rome show this morning, he gets called out as a fraud fr crying; people saying he's faking it; that he's got problems, and so on.
When it comes to the media, do your selves a favor - QUESTION EVERYTHING -
A few good links - a Great Interview on KLAC by the Loose Cannons, one of the best I've heard to this date on issues of race and racism; In case you do not know about the comment, this interview is one you need to hear - along with a wonderful comparison that I feel needs to be repeated in everyone's talking points. Listen to it here - be sure to sit through some of the talking at the beginning, even if you're lost - It's not long after their top 10 Countdown.
The quote you're listening for, is along the lines of how unacceptable it would be to make this sort of comment about a Jewish Golfer - if She would've said "the only way to stop so and so (a jewish golfer) would be to put him in a gas oven" - The world would spin off it's wheels.
However when it's a black athlete, and because that athlete says its no big deal - people just lay down and say it's no big deal; Nevermind that Tiger Woods has never taken a stand on any issues that effect black people - and while Charles Barkley also took the stance, that the comment was no big deal, let us not forget how much he Loves White Women.
For many black men, and women, who have an affinity for white people, in order to be accepted By white people, they must take these stances on these issues, or else white people will not like them.
Sad, but true.
It's rare to find a black panther who's liked by a white person; But that's a topic for another posting.
I do offer up however a quote from the blog I linked up, a nice paragraph that I fully agree with by Christian Dashiell of kansascity.com
So menial action has been taken, and the parties involved are attempting to issue quick statements and hope that the comments fade away quietly. But I just can’t let that happen. The words, though perhaps said by mistake, were too violent and too charged to simply allow for a free pass.
Perhaps following so closely on the heels of the Imus debate the country is too weary to have another discussion about race and language. I contend we would be well-served by such a discussion.
Which is why I continue to discuss these issues here on thaShow - in hopes that something positive can indeed come out of it. White people need to do more to show blacks that they Do indeed care about black people; Actions like these show the oppositie. White people need to be up in arms, so that we don't have to rely on a quote from Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson, who DO not speak for Black people, and instead speak for their OWN fame and monetary gain - as they both only make appearances when paid to appear - instead, the common man should be speaking out on behalf of Tiger Woods, and how inappropriate this comment was - considering the history of Lynching.
I mean of all the things she could've said - why that?
It came off of her tongue sooo smoothly too - it's as if it's the kind of humor that SHE is around all the time; She saw nothing wrong with it - and that is indeed a Problem. This is an aspect of "white culture" that is detrimental to the stability of America - we cannot make it much longer if we continue to be divided along lines of race; if White people continue to tell blacks to just move on and get OVER racial remarks.
Again, listen to all the interviews, you'll enjoy the shows, and the points of view. However while you listen... Question what you're listening to; Don't agree with me just because, don't disagree with me just because; Think things over - bring these discussions to others... Think, think ... think!!!

Obama - The embodiment of Change
This dude has the "it" factor that all Presidents have. He's really got a shot; I was listening to his speech after the victory in Iowa, and I began to feel that he really could do it. He embodies change - He talks about the kinds of things I have talked about for many years, here at ThaShow, and at my former yahoo group ThaClub, what I've talked about in chat rooms, and bulletins on myspace - the ability and even the responsibility of People to Change society.
In case you missed his winning speech in Iowa, here it is.
I also came across some excellent coverage of his talks with the people in New Hampshire, who will decide tonight who emerges from the fray of qualified leaders, who all want to steer this country - but the question is, in what direction?
Obama is talking to Us about our need to get involved, be involved, and stay involved in the matters of Our Country; The constitution states that WE the People are in charge; So it's over due for us to begin acting like it; too often we sit back and watch - but when it comes to matters of America we MUST get in the game.
It's up to Us to change and eliminate racism, it's up to us to improve education - to change and evolve culture into something positive for the people who are often harmed by it - to come together and truly love more, care more, and hate less, fight less, argue less - Doing others wrong for our own benefit is really No benefit to us at all; and we need to realize that; We need to spread the enlightenment from one end to another so that All Americans come to understand, that living in a manner that is consistent with bringing pleasure to all - is the best path to take, for all.
Enjoy 2008 - get involved in the Political Process - let's put a leader at the helm who can make this country great again.... or more accurately put, who can help this country deliver on the greatness it's always envisioned itself as being, and having.

What's Ice Cube talking about??
I enjoyed the video put together by Ice Cube... and now it's time to talk about what he's saying.
It's a Timely Video, speaking to the topic of Gangsta Rap's influence on crime in black communities... and overall violence in America. Of course what he's NOT saying, is that Gangsta Rap IS indeed responsible for this violence; What he's Saying, (in case anyone missed it) is that any violence found in the black community was learned from the white community; And he's right.
Violence is not spurred from Gangsta Rap - Gangsta Rap did not Create the conditions that he talks about; But, it does keep those conditions going; It does not do enough to speak out against those conditions, or to motivate the people born into those conditions to Do something different, to change those conditions.
Gangsta Rappers do not do enough to change those conditions; Instead they've used those conditions to make a better life ... for themselves. You tell me, is that right?
The world has always been a violent place, going all the way back to Cain and Abel. Man killing Man has always been a problem that we face in our world; Countries going to war against Countries has always existed. Some believe wars and violence will always exist.
And while that may be true, the reality is, we do not really know IF that's true. All we know is, it's always been here, and we've accepted that it will always be here, so, We've done Nothing to stop it, end it, curtail it, and so on.
Music is very powerful; and while Ice Cube may not feel that he is solely responsable for creating the violent conditions that exist in the black community, I would respectfully disagree to a point; I mean you really cannot lay 100% of the blame on the rapper; You really can't; That's neither fair or accurate.
Just like you cannot solely blame "the white man" for what they put in place 400 years ago; Systems, Ideas ... Cultures - created and grown - seeds planted, with a plan of them turning into trees called Niggas - who would act and think a certain way; The truth is those plans have more to do with black on black crime than gangsta rap does; Even more truthful, those plans explain Why gangsta rap exists in the first place.
Those plans, created a culture that is truly divided; Even during the Civil Rights Movement the black community was divided about the proper way to go about securing these, Equal Rights - Non-violence ... or Violence if Necessary.
The Crips and Bloods were at one time, ONE political Party, similar to the Black Panther Party; but they were eventually divided; as a people, sticking together, especially for the Good of our race, is not part of our culture. Certainly unlike the Jews.
Often when I would get into "fights or debates" with racist white people in chat rooms, they would point out that blacks are the only race that hasn't recovered from the harm that was done to them; They almost always point to the Japanese who were rounded up and placed in concentration camps during WWII - or the Jews and the Holocaust;
The biggest problem with this comparison, this way of thinking that all races have been through traumatic times, is that The other two races were not "divided" while going through their trauma; Instead, their trauma brought them closer together. I do not have time to go into all of the things that were done to black people during Slavery And Legalized Segregation in this post, but I have gone into detail before in other posts on the web (here and other sites).
When I say there is Lots of work to be done, that's an understatement; The black race was divided long ago, and the only true way to end violence in the black communities, is to totally destroy black culture, and then start anew. Pulling this off however, would be nearly impossible; Because of what culture is.
Culture is passed down; from one generation to another; Views and Ideas are given to young black children, and as they grow older, these views and ideas are reinforced by the communities they live in, the music they listen to, the movies they watch, the People they are around, friends, family, uncles, aunts, cousins, and so forth. So starting anew would be difficult, mainly because the Old ideas and views have not been eliminated; and are being passed on, as we speak.
Who are we to tell someone that their Mother and Father, perhaps even unknowingly so, have ruined them with views and ideas that are detrimental to their own development; that the very views and ideas they hold onto so tightly, are the same views that are holding them back from achieving success, legally, in a country that is constantly looking for ways to lock black people up.
And so, the debate ... and the conversation continues; perhaps with the hope, that the current views and Ideas held by many in the black community, can somehow begin to change on their own... that perhaps unity can eventually seep it's way into our mind sets - so that together we can all decide what to do, to better our communities; along with what not to do, to keep our communities going in a downward spiral.
I used to love Gangsta Rap growing up; I had all the NWA and Ice Cube albums; till the day I came to realize just how detrimental this music is to my people. While some people can listen to it, and not enternalize the ideas expressed with in.... many black people in my community, take those words to heart; They Become the characters from the songs; They mimic the visual representation given to them by music videos, and the movies these same gangsta rappers write for themselves, to further exploit the black community, living real good lives from representing the crime found in 'the hood' ....
Here's to America - and the hope that the Nation will wake up to the tragedy going on at home.

Tony Robbins is hands down one of the most Corniest people to ever live; But if you've never sat down and heard him speak you're missing out on one of the most inspiring speakers of all time - Listen to him tell a story that I've heard before, talking about Sylvestor Stallone.
Inspiration can come from anywhere people; Remember that - stay open to it - it may just be around the corner; and when it comes, it's much better to be Prepared for the opportunity and Not have it, than to Have the opportunity and Not be prepared... you've gotta be ready, and you've gotta stay hungry.
