Was "the Matrix" ... just a movie?

Ok ... this falls in the category of scary. This information is either true, or made up. I don't have enough information to say for sure; Sure, I can speculate as well as you can.

Just like always, my main concern is that we at least think about the information and question as to whether or not "this" is actually happening here, and now.

... scary stuff. So the movie that also comes to mind here is The Manchurian Candidate. I've heard that they only make movies about things that are either possible, have happened, or is happening now - yes, that would mean there are distant galaxies, star wars, aliens, even werewolves and vampires...

But we are told that none of these things are real ... at least that's what we're supposed to believe. What do you believe ... and why?
